The Neverending Reader Reviews

I work in the retail industry and love to get away from the craziness by reading a great book! I also love to tell anyone who will listen about my latest reads.

Jasmine

Jasmine - Barbara Kevin I don't know why all of the books I have been reading lately have not been well edited but Jasmine was no different. It was a cutesy book with a meet-cute that was well as I keep repeating... Cute. It was a very quick read which was exactly what I was looking for and not a tricky read. Not a waste of my time but I'm glad I only spent $.99 on it.

Enchanted

Enchanted - Alethea Kontis I have to say I'm a little disappointed in this book. One of the reasons that I paid so much for this book (9.34 kindle price) was that the reviews for it were actually pretty good and the plot sounded intriguing. Unfortunately it was completely predictable and it was horribly edited. Words were misspelled and spaces were missing. In the acknowledgements she comments about a fellow colleague (or student I'm really not sure) winning a contest but her being first to publish. I wish I had read the winner of the contest instead.

Looking for Alaska

Looking for Alaska - I just recently finished another book by this author and I was intrigued by his writing. He adds a flair of mystery to his characters and to his stories that keep you coming back to see how it ends. Will the story continue to wind around and around or will it eventually come to an end? By the way, he does end the stories and very eloquently might I add. When trying to decide which next book to read by him (the first being Paper Towns if you are at all interested) I found an e-sampler of 4 of his novels, the first being Looking for Alaska. I was immediately hooked and purchased the book as soon as I had finished the sample. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I was ready for another one of his novels as I had read Paper Towns in 1 emotionally charged day. This novel took me a few more days than that but I have had a lot going on at work.Reading the synopsis and the teaser chapters I knew to expect the worst. I'm really not sure having just finished the book that the "worst" actually happened. Again, there was a sense of mystery that needed to be solved and I really feel like John Green was able to achieve that in this novel as well. It will be a little while before I decide to read another of his novels as I just am not emotionally stable enough to survive it without it seeping into my actual life. The one thing I do not like is that although both stories we different they were also the same. Maybe the next one I read won't be.... But as I have already explained I will hopefully not be finding that out any time soon.

Paper Towns

Paper Towns - Wow, I was looking for something to read and happened upon this. I loved it! What a thrill and sweet story that I finished in a day. What a great writer I will be looking into his other novels for sure.

Chasing China: A Daughter's Quest for Truth

Chasing China: A Daughter's Quest for Truth - Kay Bratt This was an interesting book. It actually got more intriguing as the book went by. I was interested in it because eventually I will be adopting a child, and this was a peek at something that hopefully my future child will never go through. The writing style really was not all that great, and the conversations were not actually written as how it would be spoken, so I just kept reading to get the story finished.I liked the ending. It really brought together what the author was trying to get across. I think I was actually a little shocked that I did not see the ending coming. Overall, the story was good, the writing not so much.

United Eden (Eden Trilogy, #3)

United Eden (Eden Trilogy, #3) - Nicole Williams It's OVER! It was a great ending and I'm glad to finally move on to something else.

Fallen Eden (Eden Trilogy, #2)

Fallen Eden (Eden Trilogy, #2) - Nicole Williams As I get towards the end of the series there are more and more similarities to Twilight. Now, I love Twilight, but I also don't think that every book that I read has to be like Twilight. I still went ahead and purchased the last book in the series so that I can finish it... but I'm not extremely thrilled about it. We'll see how it ends. I hope I'm not too disappointed.

Eternal Eden (Eden Trilogy, #1)

Eternal Eden (Eden Trilogy, #1) - Nicole Williams This book took me a few days to read (maybe a week) but in my busy life I consider that pretty fast. It kept me intrigued to the point that I kept coming back to it even if it was for only a few minutes before j fell asleep.I will admit that it was easy to tell what was going to happen next it was still a fun book. The love of the main characters is phenomenal and worth reading about. There were a few writing mistakes but nothing I couldn't read through. I have already purchased the next installment and cant wait to start!

Monkey Business

Monkey Business - Sarah Mlynowski I felt like this book jumped around a lot to feel more interesting than it already was. I would consider reading another book by this author but we'll see.

The Real Real

The Real Real - Emma McLaughlin, Nicola Kraus I liked this book. It was fun to read and interesting enough to keep me reading it. I probably wouldn't have picked this up. It it reminded me of how much I love to read young adult literature.

Where the Heart is

Where the Heart is - Jenny Gardiner This book was sad and depressing for 90% of the entire book. However, cuddling with my puppy at 4 in the morning I finally finish and get to the good parts! Glad I stuck with it, but I've read other novels by Gardiner before (under a pen name) and they had much less depressing storylines. She sure is a great writer though, excellent techniques.

Always the Baker Never the Bride (Emma Rae Creation)

Always the Wedding Planner, Never the Bride - Sandra D. Bricker I was extremely happy to find this sequel (didn't even know it was coming) since I enjoyed the first book. Bricker's writing is very easy on the eyes and the mind. Thiswas a great wind down book that allowed me to relax and enjoy. I will definitely read more written by Sandra Bricker. The story was cute, though a little cliche. The characters had some backbone to them but overall everything fit well together. I love stories about weddings so I definitely fell sucker to the love! Good book, if you're just looking for a light read. Ps it is a little preachy but I didn't mind.

A Marked Past: The Mercer Legacy

A Marked Past: The Mercer Legacy - Leslie Deaton A Marked Past was a great (and fast) read for me. It kept me interested so much that I actually woke up a few hours early for work one morning and heavily considered not going back to sleep and picking up my kindle to read it. Sleep did win in the long run, but not for long. It did, however surpass me catching up on my Grey's Anatomy so that is definitely saying something.Leslie's writing style, as well as her ability to create believable characters was very apparent in A Marked Past. I can't wait to read the next in the series and any future books that she may also write. I was so enticed by her story and she kept me interested. With romance, a little mystery, and a great plot this YA novel is a great first from Leslie Deaton. Keep up the great work Leslie!! I can't wait to read the next one.

The Year She Fell

The Year She Fell - Alicia Rasley What to say about this book... well... it was kind of hard to read to be honest. It just did not keep my interest very well until about halfway through and then I couldn't put it down. Not because at that time I was enticed by the story or the writing but just because I needed to know the answer.to the mystery. What was most frusterating was that the mystery would almost be solved and then it changed perspectives and start from the beginning. I'm glad it's over.

Crap Chronicles: When IBS Strikes in all the Wrong Places

Crap Chronicles: When IBS Strikes in all the Wrong Places - Diana Estill Short but sweet. Funny to read about such awful situations and glad nothing like that has ever happened to me!!!

Unknown Book 8782657

Unknown Book 8782657 - Unknown Author 658 This was a quick read, except for the fact that I fell asleep in the middle and almost forgot to set my alarm to wake up the next day! Sean had some good points about easy ways you can combat procrastination that I might put into effect in my personal and professional life.
