The Neverending Reader Reviews

I work in the retail industry and love to get away from the craziness by reading a great book! I also love to tell anyone who will listen about my latest reads.

Between the Lines (Between the Lines, #1)

Between the Lines (Between the Lines, #1) - Tammara Webber It was good but a bit predictable. I'll definitely keep reading the series.

The Selection

The Selection - Reading this book did not take very long and had some interesting (though easily guessed) twists and turns. It was a mixture between The Hunger Games with the whole "selection" bit as well as the setting created by the author, and The Bachelor television program. I did end up enjoying the book and the characters and was sad to see the abrupt ending and then find out that I don't know when the next one will be coming out. I will have to do some research! Anyway, I enjoyed it!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - I have had friends in the past tell me to read this book because it is "really good". I really can not describe this work as really good. It is hardly even thought provoking. The writing is not great, and being epistolary it is hard to even decipher whether the "writer" is telling the truth or not. I finally read this book because the movie is coming out and I wanted to know more about it before deciding to go see it or not. Unfortunately actually reading it has made me decide not to go watch the movie, mostly because I am not sure how they can make this story a movie. It was a depressing and forced coming of age novel.

Wake (Watersong, #1)

Wake (Watersong, #1) - Amanda Hocking I can definitely see the difference in her writing since going to a publisher. This book obviously went through a lot if editing that her self published works had been lacking. This novel was good but not great. Half the time you are waiting to figure out what is going on with the main character and by the time that is figured out it seems to be too late. It is obviously the first in a series and I will more than likely read the next if I remember to but it just isn't quite the story that I'm used to from Amanda Hocking.

Breathe (Sea Breeze, #1)

Breathe (Sea Breeze, #1) - Abbi Glines This was a fun, easy book to read reminding me that the recommendations from goodreads have yet to steer me wrong. Fast and simple with a cute story line I was happy to see the ending. Now I'm wondering when it says Sea Breeze #1 if that means there is another story about Jax and Sadie... If so looks like I've found my next book to read too!

Honey on Your Mind

Honey on Your Mind - Maria Murnane, Julia Whelan Well I fell asleep with only 20% left to read so I woke myself up to finish it! Haha. It's fun to read about Waverly and her friends and great to see things working out for her. Almost seems like I know her now that I've read 3 books about her and I hope there is more in store!
It's a Waverly Life - Maria Murnane What a great sequel! I had forgotten how much I had enjoyed the first boom which apparently I read almost 2 years ago and was thrilled to find that she had written a second book... And can wait to start the third! The story was endearing even though a bit predictable. The characters are cute and who doesn't love to read about people with stupid problems that find a way to overcome?

Love Unscripted (Love, #1)

Love Unscripted - Tina Reber This book wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. So much of this was hemming and hawing over whether one or the other was cheating that it's amazing anything else happened. It was predictable and even when a surprise happened you already knew it was coming. I'm surprised I finished it so fast considering its length but I think I just wanted it to be over already. Maybe 3 stars is too many...

The Greatest Knight (Paperback)

The Greatest Knight - Elizabeth Chadwick It feels wonderful finally finishing this novel! Because I read it on my kindle I didn't realize that it was going to be so long. It was different from other Elizabeth Chadwick novels in that it was not about a specific incident but strictly about one man. She did not feel the need to tell the story about battles from beginning to end but just let you know how it ended sometimes. My only issue is that because the chapters were so long, though she titled each chapter about the time it would be discussing I never knew how long it was between chapters unless I looked back. Not a huge issue as the time did not go back and forth but was indeed a sort of timeline of his life.I loved the romance between him and his wife. It was as if they were destined to be together and I can only imagine that during those times it really did not matter if they truly loved each other or not. It definitely made a great story. Not sure I will read the next novel but I also don't think it necessary as there was enough of an ending for me with this one. Maybe in the future...

Easy

Easy - Tammara Webber This was a fast and easy read. Good story that staged interesting enough to keep me up waaaaaay too lays as I have to get up for work in 5 hours. I wonder what else she has written...

Endless Magic (Star-Crossed #4)

Endless Magic (Star-Crossed #4) - Rachel Higginson I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed reading this book and this series. I am going to stalk this poor woman online just to make sure I don't miss the release of her next book. Pretty sure i accidentally blew up my kindle from constant use as it doesnt seem to be holding a charge for very long anymore...real question though... what am I going to read now?

Fearless Magic (Star-Crossed #3)

Fearless Magic (Star-Crossed #3) - Rachel Higginson I continue to love this series! If I didn't have to work tomorrow I would immediately get the last book and start reading it right now. I'm not entirely sure how I can wait but I do know that I need sleep and starting the next one would not be conducive to a good nights sleep.

Hopeless Magic (Star-Crossed #2)

Hopeless Magic (Star-Crossed #2) - Rachel Higginson As I continue to read this series I remain impressed at Rachel Higginson's ability as an author. The imagery is beautiful and I can actually visualize what she has written. I have now read the first 2 books in this series in 2 days and will immediately start the next one if I can. I feel like I have done nothing but read but I don't want to let the world written in these books go away.

Reckless Magic (Star-Crossed, #1)

Reckless Magic (Star-Crossed, #1) - Rachel Higginson Wow, this was a great (and fast) read. Higginson has a great writing style that keeps you enough in the dark that you want to keep going. She is smart to keep this one free because the next book that I'm buying is the next in this series.

A History Renewed: The Mercer Legacy Book 2: 1

A History Renewed - Leslie Deaton Wow, this took me a lot longer to read than I thought it would. A History Renewed felt like the second book in a series. There was not as much action and kept explaining the same things over and over again as if you hadn't just read it in a previous chapter. I will read the next book to complete the series but I hope that it wont be as disappointing as this one.

The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business - Charles Duhigg I was really hoping that this book would help me get a step up at work by telling me how to help create habits for someone else. It turns out that it needs to be a personal choice :( I still enjoyed the information in this book as it was very informative... More so than the books I usually read!
