The Neverending Reader Reviews

I work in the retail industry and love to get away from the craziness by reading a great book! I also love to tell anyone who will listen about my latest reads.

Not Quite Mine (Not Quite, #2)

Not Quite Mine (Not Quite, #2) - Catherine Bybee I didn't realize that this was the second book in the series, but honestly it didn't matter. This was a cute - though honest extremely predictable story. I knew who the father was and thus who the mother was right away. This didn't make a difference at all to the story and it is still cute. Not a complete waste of my time and a quick read!

Pushing the Limits

Pushing the Limits - Well that was a pleasant surprise of a read! This was a great, easy read! The story was pretty compelling, and kept me reading through the night! The writing was good and the characters felt real. I would definitely read another book of hers again.

Fallen (Lauren Kate's Fallen Series #1)

Fallen - Lauren Kate I spent much of this novel just wanting the secrecy to be over with. Of course, had that been the case then it would have been a short novella instead. I may venture to read the next one if I just can't find anything else to read. Until then, I'm glad it's finally over and the secret is out.

Awkward

Awkward - Marni Bates Cute, easy read. Predictable but funny and really not as awkward as it was made out to be.

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares - Rachel Cohn, David Levithan It's funny... When I read books based on goodreads groups I tend to read a quick synopsis and go for it without reading too many reviews or anything. This was no exception to that rule. The entire time I was reading I kept thinking wow this is just like Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist! Turns out there is a reason for that... Same authors! This was cute in that will this be over I already know what happens kind of way. I don't feel like it was a waste of my time to read because it was cute and a little bit of an adventure but not really. Well written except for the age of the characters did not really seem like 16. Maybe 12? Cute though.

The Elite

The Elite - Kiera Cass I wish I had found this series after they were finished because I want to read the next book already!!! So not fair.It was a pretty good sequel to the first of "the selection" series. It didn't always just feel like a filler piece. There were parts where if you didn't know there would be a next one that you could imagine a conclusion before the end of the novel. Like I said I'm disappointed that I have to wait again and I'll probably forget how much I love them by then!

Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series #3)

Forever - Maggie Stiefvater Spoiler alert! I wish it had a real ending! I'm not fully disappointed because it was one of the ones where you can kind of decide... But I really wanted her to make a decision for me! Oh well. It's over now and I can move on to the next!

Linger (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series #2)

Linger (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series #2) - I kind of figured out the ending half way through so it was a little tricky getting myself to continue to read it. I'm interested to see how the last book brings it all together.

Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series #1)

Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series #1) - I had been looking for something to read and saw that a friend was reading this so I thought I would give it a try. Not bad! Amazing writing, almost like poetry most of the time. I'm going to keep going with the series if only because I bought all 3 at once. Haha

Requiem

Requiem - I am glad to be finished with this trilogy. It was definitely a great story with good characters that even though I couldn't necessarily relate to were well written. I definitely was disappointed in the ending as even though I feel the story was over it wasn't fully completed. It was like watching the end of a movie that they have purposely left open for a sequel but never actually make it.

Gone Girl: A Novel

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn Wow. This book had me hooked from the beginning! Flynn did a great job of creating the perfect characters that worked off of each other. Every chapter got crazier and crazier. The first half did go a bit slow but I think it had too to get you to understand who the characters were. I'm not sure that I'll venture into reading another of her novels but it was fun while it lasted.

Beautiful Darkness (Beautiful Creatures Series #2)

Beautiful Darkness - Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia For the second book in a series this wasn't horrible, however it did take me awhile to complete. There was almost too much going on that sometimes I would pick it up to read for awhile just to be lost and put it down again. I will probably continue on with this series after I read some other novels on my list.

Beautiful Creatures (Beautiful Creatures Series #1)

Beautiful Creatures (Beautiful Creatures Series #1) - I originally began reading this book because my husband wanted to know more about it after seeing a lot of trailers for the movie that just came out. l was skeptical that I would enjoy it except that it seemed to possess many similar qualities to books that I have enjoyed in the past (aka Twilight and other books filled with the supernatural and mixed with a love story). Looking back through what I just finished reading I can see why it took me a few weeks to complete, though it was a decent story, and it definitely had it's moments of greatness, for the most part I was simply waiting for something to happen. I am sure I will partake in reading the sequels because that is usually what I do I finally feel like I Can go see the movie without wrecking the book for me. I wonder if they will be able to portray as much in the movie as she was able to write?

Futures and Frosting: A Sugarcoated Happily Ever After: 2

Futures and Frosting - Tara Sivec I liked the first one better but I may give the next one a chance since the stories are so funny that they actually make me laugh out loud.

Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1)

Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) - Tara Sivec There were times when I was actually laughing out loud, and most of the time I just thought it was hilarious. It was a fun, easy read and even though the plot was a little too unrealistic I'm still going to start the 2nd one right away :)

Flat-Out Love

Flat-Out Love - Jessica Park Well I figured out the ending in the very beginning but that didn't mean this wasn't a great book! Being the type of person who always wants to fix things myself, I was able to relate to Julie very easily. I was of course not surprised by the ending but the whole story was well written.
